The country’s grandest and most exciting ocean swim – the iconic The Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic will be another fun and festive sporting spectacle that will bring together the whole community for a cool and energetic weekend.

Capping off the Sydney Morning Herald’s ultimate sporting weekend, the Cole Classic ocean swim will serve as an excellent finale for this much-awaited swim action. To be held on February 1, 2015 on Manly Beach, this ocean swim will gather both professional and amateur swimmers to battle it out in the waters, more importantly, to do something for a cause. You can either come to this event as a competitor or as a spectator and experience a wet and wonderful weekend.

Welcoming all participants of all abilities, the Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic ocean swim features different race courses including the 1km, 2km or 9km. To qualify for the race, participants should at least be nine-years old to join the 1km event, 13-years for the 2km event and 16-year old for the 9km event.

The 2km race also allows teams of participants to join. If you wish to register for the 2km swim, you can team up with your friends, relatives or work colleagues. You must have at least four competitors to qualify for the team event. Winners are awarded by the fastest four finishers.

Aside from bringing some great swimming action, the Cole Classic also lets you become a part of a charitable effort where you can contribute to the much need funds for over 800 charities, including the Manly Life Saving Club.
